|Other Information for Outgoing Exchange Student
An “exchange student” is a student who attends a sister institution with a student exchange agreement for one semester or one academic year while enrolled as a student of our University (i.e., having completed student registration and paid the tuition fees). Exchange students are not required to pay tuition fees to the sister school and will receive official transcripts or certificates of attendance from the sister school at the end of the program. To ensure and in consideration of the students’ ability to adapt to the exchange program, the applications for student exchange are divided into different groups, namely the English and European groups, the Japanese group, the Korean group and the Chinese group. Students are required to meet language proficiency requirements to be considered for admission to the university. Students are advised to improve their language skills and take the language proficiency test in advance to support their applications. Please note that the language proficiency test certificate required for the application is within the validity period.

In addition to the university-designated exchange students, students can also study at their own expense at a foreign university for a short-term, semester or academic year, regardless of the university’s affiliation with a sister university, while maintaining their student status. They are referred to as Visiting Students or Guest Students, abroad.
The visiting students, in addition to paying the tuition fees to the overseas universities, have essentially the same rights as University Level exchange students. Upon returning to the home university, students may also apply for assessment and recognition of foreign academic records per the regulations.

“Dual Degree Program” refers to undergraduate or postgraduate students, of two universities that are bound by a cooperation agreement, who upon completion of the agreed year limit at the original university then, continue to take the rest of the relevant credits at the second university. As long as the graduation criteria of both universities are met, the students can obtain a degree from both universities. The Dual degree system not only provides another channel for foreign students to study in Taiwan but also allows local students to study abroad.
